Karen Hennessy, Feldenkrais Practitioner

Feldenkrais Training

(Switzerland 2006-2009)

My interest and passion for Feldenkrais began 16 years when I set up classes for the professinal dance community in Dublin. I took a class and was hooked. I later used Feldenkrais to overcome my own back pain after trying a wide range of other practices. Since then the method has enriched my life on all levels; physical, emotional and psychological.

I embarked on a training programme in 2006 and 10 years later I am still fascinated by this Method and continuing to learn. I am lucky to have trained with Elizabeth Beringer in Switzerland and in the US. Elizabeth studied directly with the founder of the Method, Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, in both the U.S. and Israel between 1976 and 1983. I also trained with Professor Frank Wildman in Italy, and Garret Newell in the UK.

I am a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner, a member of Feldenkrais Ireland and a member of the Feldenkrais Guild UK. I regularly attend professional development workshops to continue my own practice and learning.

I have worked with a diverse population including those with movement limitations, back pain, general discomfort from day to day office/work environments, seniors, musicians, dancers, actors, and more recently with children.
